Embrace the Simple Moments
My apologies for not getting this post up on Saturday. I am so happy that you have come to this space again! Yesterday was quite an eventful day and I am so thankful that I was able to spend time with some people who I do not see often. Anyway, let’s hop into the Saturday Series post that is going up on Sunday. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Life will quickly pass you by, especially in today’s day and age. We are trained, as a whole, to focus on the big picture. We are taught that the result is much greater than the journey that we take to get there.
The first part of embracing the simple moments that I would encourage all of you to dive into is understanding that you are lucky to be in the position that you presently are. There are always moments that we can choose to appreciate. It is very important to know that you must actively choose to appreciate and embrace the simpler moments in life.
Try to embrace the things that you may usually take advantage of or truly overlook. Some examples are as follows:
Your morning cup of tea or coffee
Achieving a goal, regardless of the size
The new life that is seen in nature
The changing of the seasons
The beauty of the world around you
Diving into a great book
Connecting with an old friend or loved one
It is especially important in today’s tumultuous world to take time to consciously choose to appreciate what you are blessed with. Here are some simple moments that I embraced this week:
Having a job that let me work through the quarantine
Being able to catch up with some sweet friends.
Having my man in my life to provide support and the most unconditional human love that I have ever experienced.
Quality conversations with colleagues.
The health of myself and my family.
The beauty of connecting through social media.
Having reliable transportation.
The cup of tea that I consumed a few nights this week.
Do you see how the small things that we can so easily overlook, can come together to create a huge blessing in our lives? What are some of the small moments that you appreciated this past week, and what are some moments that you are looking forward to for this upcoming week?
