A Proper Reintroduction

Wow! Long time since I’ve been here, sweet friends! I’m back and it feels so good!

I took quite a long hiatus as the last year has been crazy busy, to say the least! I’ll give you a brief life update timeline and elaborate on where my head is for the future of this website.

I last posted in June 2021 so here we are, over a year later, and I am COMMITTED to being consistent.

July 2021 - We moved all of our things into the cutest little space in Saint Augustine, FL with plans to stay there for at least a couple of years as newlyweds. I also had a bridal shower, which was a lot of fun.

August 2021 - We had our wedding on August 13 and swiftly escaped to our honeymoon. It was such an eventful month. The Monday following our return from the honeymoon I started a new job.

September 2021 - We found out I was PREGNANT. Oops! I guess honeymoon babies happen in real life, haha!

October 2021 - We started telling friends and family that we were going to have a baby and the excitement continued to grow.

November 2021 - We announced publicly that we would be having a baby. We celebrated Thanksgiving in Hilton Head, SC as a couple. It was such a special time.

December 2021 - This Christmas season we stayed in Florida and made the season feel festive by taking Christmas light adventures and spending time with family.

2021 was a great year. Between getting engaged, married, having a wedding, going on our honeymoon, finding out we were having a baby, and everything in between, we will always cherish what the year brought.

January 2022 - We found out that we were having a baby BOY! I was so excited. When I tell you that we had no idea if it was going to be a girl or a boy, we truly did not know.

February 2022 - We bought our 1st home. The home that we would bring our baby boy home to and make our own. After a few weeks of work, we packed up all of our belongings and moved into our home.

March 2022 - We kind of “laid low” this month. We really just tried to get our house furnished, finish up any miscellaneous projects, and get ready for the new chapter of life.

April 2022 - My sweet friend and mom threw me the most special baby shower. It was Peter Rabbit-themed, as is our son’s nursery, and it was such a fun time. My birthday was also in April and we celebrated by having our last trip just the two of us. Since I was VERY pregnant on my birthday we had a local spa day and hotel stay, truly perfect because I was SO tired at this point.

May 2022 - We welcomed our sweet son, James, to this earth. Maybe one day I will share my birth story, but he sure did give me a run for my money.

Ever since May, I have been soaking up each and every moment with James. He is such a bundle of joy and truly is a wonderful baby. I did not return to work after having James and have been learning and loving the world of being a stay-at-home wife and mother. There is something overwhelmingly rewarding about devoting your days to your husband, child, and home.

Since May we have laid a bit lower than normal, but have been surrounded by so much family and love for the newest addition. James has been “camping” (in an RV, because that’s as close I will get lol), to his first wedding, experienced his first hurricane, and as you are reading this we are on our first family trip.

I guess I should probably close this up because I have dinner to get out of the oven and baby toys to clean up.

Really quickly, I wanted to say that I don’t anticipate this turning into a “mommy blog”, while there may be some more mom/baby-related posts, that is simply because that is what my life has turned to. I also looked to my favorite people on the internet for mom/baby-related things. Overall, I hope to keep this space still a place where we talk about femininity, elegance, and frugal living.

What have you been up to this past almost a year and a half? What would you like to see me dive into? What are you looking forward to for the rest of the year?

I would love to connect. Feel free to send me an email, direct message on Instagram, or comment on this post.

I’ll see you again quite soon with some more content!
