A Promise
This ring was a promise between 2 people who I will always look up to dearly. Their love lasted for many many years. Their love was constant through sickness and health. Their love was their glue through the trials and tribulations that life threw their way. This ring started a family that eventually led to me. The love that was forged with this ring resulted in the kindest heart, my sister’s name, and a whole family that will continue to grow for many years to come.
Now, this ring is on my hand and I do not take the responsibility lightly. I will love my groom more and more with each passing moment. I will be sure that we focus on love as they did. I will provide a nurturing, welcoming, and peaceful home for our future family. I will work every day to build our relationship and grow as a couple, even when the times get hard. I do not take this commitment lightly and am so excited to celebrate our love together on a special day when we join families.
I know that both Grannie and Granddaddy are smiling from above and I wish that I could give them the sweetest hug. I am honored to have been given this ring, but even more blessed to have this man give it to me. Jake, I will never take you for granted and I promise to never let any outside force cause our promise to be broken. I will cherish the promise that we are making to each other. I don’t have words to explain how excited I am to be yours forever and finally take your last name for real.
This season has been a busy one. While extremely overwhelming at times, I remind myself that I will never get this season of life again. I’m sure that you could say the same thing about the season of life that you’re in. Being overwhelmed or intimidated by the plans ahead of you, try to remember that this is your only life and the moments that you are living in now are the only times that you will have those moments.
We’re so excited for this new chapter of life, and cannot wait for our wedding later this year!
